Windsor

(words & music: M.Filipek copyright 2001)

Drifting on a memory all day until reality
Strange and true, she didn’t look like you.
Met upon an evening train
No Conductor, me and you
Think I’ve lost some time
I guess I’m said stuck in yesterday.

Working in a retail store
All in all another day
A roof, some clothes an Old TV
And furniture is all she needs

Her girl lives with her mother
She’s starting out with innocence
Hasn’t met her father
But her picture stays within his heart

Couldn’t wait for two years
Not another day
Ignore my mind
My hearts leading the way

I'm gonna spend some time in Windsor
Haven’t really been there in ten years
I'll Cross the eastern border
And I’ll meet her west of midnight
Make the past and present memories

They tell you when you’re running
Leave your bags behind and don’t look back
Never trust a stranger as a friend
Never leave a calling card
They just might knock upon your door
Take away your dreams and drop them in a river bend.

I Didn’t mind the stages
She didn’t mind the storm
I kept on riding, almost went till dawn..
